Flush Seawall Chock Base Plates
A wheel chock bolted straight into a seawall cope cracks the cap. The fastener lands in the thin edge, salt water follows the hole, and the next storm lifts a corner of the concrete. A flush base plate moves that load into a plate that sits in the paver or cap field.
What the plate has to do
The plate is set flush so a bare foot and a dock cart do not catch it. We isolate the fasteners from the cope joint, leave a drainage path so the recess does not hold water, and keep the chock itself replaceable without breaking the cap.
Where it belongs
This is a seawall and dock detail, not a driveway patch. It pairs with the paver field on the cap or the landing behind it. PaverForge Hardscapes sets these plates with the hardscape, not as an afterthought. Call 727-490-9798 or book at https://www.paverforge.com/book-online.
