Flush Seawall Depth-Sounder Access Plates
A depth sounder or tide staff on a seawall cap becomes a toe catch if the housing sits proud of the pavers, and it becomes a tear-out if the field is grouted over it.
What the plate is
PaverForge Hardscapes sets a framed opening in the cap walk, flush so a hose and a cart still cross it. The sounder or staff sits in the recess. The frame is isolated from the instrument so a future pull does not crack the surrounding courses.
The marine contractor owns the transducer, the cable, and the bonding. We own the paver bay that stays flush and lifts later. We do not grout the lid to the field. Pitch leaves the recess high enough that rinse water does not sit in the bay.
We set these plates on St. Pete Beach, Treasure Island, and the Pinellas canal lots we already work. Call 727-490-9798 or book at https://www.paverforge.com/book-online if the sounder is rocking the cap pavers.
