Flush Seawall Dock-Line Locker Recess Plates
Dock lines live in a locker at the seawall cap. Once that cap walk is paved over the locker, the only way to open it is to tear pavers up. A flush recess plate keeps the lid bay liftable and keeps the opening from becoming a toe catch. PaverForge Hardscapes sets those plates on St. Pete Beach, Treasure Island, and the Pinellas canal lots we already work. Call 727-490-9798 or book at https://www.paverforge.com/book-online.
What the plate is
It is a framed opening in the cap walk, set flush so a hose and a cart still cross it. The frame is isolation for the paver bay, not structure for the locker. The marine contractor owns the locker, the lid hardware, and the wall. PaverForge owns the paver bay around it.
How it is built
Locate the locker with the marine contractor before the walk is locked. Set a rigid frame so the surrounding field can be compacted without dropping into the opening. Keep the plate flush with the cap walk and pitched so it does not become a pond. The plate lifts later for line service without opening the rest of the field.
If the cap has no other outfall, a trapped collar can take splash at the frame. We do not bury the locker lid under a continuous field and call it finished. Send photos of the cap walk and the locker location. We walk the wall before we lock a number.
