Flush Seawall Dock-Speaker Conduit Collars
Dock-speaker wire that pops through the seawall cap becomes a trip and a crack line the first time someone pulls the lead. A flush conduit collar frames that sleeve so the walk stays level and the speaker can come out later.
What the collar is
It is a small framed opening in the cap walk, set flush so a hose and a cart still cross it. The frame is isolation, not the audio system. The low-voltage installer owns the speaker, the transformer, and the wire. We own the paver bay that keeps the cap from rocking around the sleeve.
How we set it
We do not grout the conduit to the pavers. Pitch leaves the collar high enough that rinse does not sit in the bay. A future pull of the lead should not open the field. If the cap has no other outfall, the collar takes splash only.
