Flush Seawall Electrical Bonding-Lug Access Plates
A seawall bonding lug is the point where the dock electrical system ties into the metal cap or the bonding grid. If the paver walk covers it, the next inspection means tearing up the field. A flush access plate keeps the walk continuous and the lug reachable.
Why the lug cannot disappear under pavers
Canal lots in Pinellas often add a paver walk along the seawall after the electrical work is done. The lug, the bonding conductor, and the cap connection still have to be opened without a jackhammer. We leave a liftable bay sized to the plate, bedded so it does not rock, and edged so the surrounding field stays locked.
Liftable paver bay or recessed plate over the bonding lug, not a buried cover
Plate set flush with the walking surface so it is not a trip edge
Opening large enough for the lug and the conductor, not just a peek hole
Surrounding field restrained so removing the plate does not unlock the walk
What this is not
This is an access detail in the hardscape, not a substitute for the electrician who lands the bonding conductor. We coordinate the opening with whoever owns the electrical work, then build the plate so the walk still sheds water.
Ask for the plate on the seawall walk
PaverForge Hardscapes builds seawall walks and flush access plates from St. Pete Beach. Call 727-490-9798. A photo of the lug and the cap line tells us whether the plate can sit in the walk or needs a small recess off the main path.
