Flush Seawall Fender-Board Hanger Plates
A fender board is the timber or composite bumper that keeps a hull off the seawall. Screwing the hangers straight into a thin concrete cap cracks the face and lets salt water into the steel. The load belongs on a plate, not on a handful of lag screws.
What the plate does
We set a flush stainless or hot-dip hanger plate in the cap, or in a paver landing just behind the cap, with backing so the pull goes into the wall instead of the face shell. The plate sits flush so a bare foot does not catch it. A small pitch and a weep keep standing water off the bolts. This is not a substitute for a marine contractor's wall repair if the cap is already spalled.
If the board is chewing the cap on a Pinellas seawall, call PaverForge Hardscapes at 727-490-9798. We will say if the plate is the right fix or if the wall needs a marine look first.
