Flush Seawall Fire-Extinguisher Cabinet Recess Plates
A flush home for a dock fire cabinet
A fire-extinguisher cabinet on a seawall cap is only useful if people can reach it without tripping over the box. A proud cabinet or a wood shim stack rocks, holds water, and becomes the first thing a dock cart hits.
PaverForge sets a reinforced recess plate flush with the cap or the dock walk. The plate is sized to the cabinet footprint, haunched so it does not rock on the cap joint, and given a drain path so washdown and rain do not sit under the box. The cabinet bolts to the plate, not into a random patch of cap concrete.
The recess stays clear of cleats, hose reels, and the ladder socket so a line handler is not stepping over hardware to reach the extinguisher. If the cap is already spalled, the plate goes in with the cap repair rather than on top of loose concrete.
This is a hardscape detail, not a fire-system design. Placement still has to match the dock owner's safety plan. PaverForge Hardscapes builds the plate and the surrounding paver or cap work. Call (727) 490-9798 or see paverforge.com/services.
