Flush Seawall Hailer-Horn Base Plates
A hailer horn on a Palm Harbor or Ozona seawall is a small loudspeaker the dock uses to call the boat. Bolted proud of the cap, the horn and its cable become a toe catch, and the lag screws crack the cope the first time someone steps on the bracket.
What the plate is
The plate is a recessed pad in the cap walk, set flush so a hose and a cart still cross it. The horn drops onto a socket or a short stud and comes off for a storm. A cable sweep and a bonding lug stay reachable for the marine electrician. The plate is isolation for the pavers, not a structural repair of the wall.
The marine contractor owns the horn, the radio, and the bonding. We own the paver bay that stays flush and lifts later. We do not grout the bracket to the field, and we do not cover a weep, a tie-rod end, or a flap gate with the same plate. Pitch leaves the recess high enough that rinse water does not sit in the bay.
