Flush Seawall Kayak-Launch Roller Plates
A kayak roller bolted straight to a seawall cap chews the concrete and leaves a rocking mount after one season of salt and launch drag. A flush plate gives the roller a replaceable bearing surface and keeps the cap joint closed.
How the plate sits
We recess a non-ferrous or coated plate into the cap so the top is flush with the walk surface. The recess has a weep so tide splash does not sit under the plate. Anchors land in sound concrete, not in a patched spall, and the roller frame bolts to the plate so a future roller swap does not reopen the cap.
Adjacent pavers or the cap walk get a short soldier course so the launch path does not rock the field. We stay inside the private cap and do not cut the seawall face or the tie-back line.
When to call
If the roller rocks, the cap is spalled at the bolts, or you are adding a launch on a Palm Harbor, Ozona, or Crystal Beach seawall, call PaverForge Hardscapes at 727-490-9798.
