Flush Seawall Line-Bin Recess Plates
A flush seawall line-bin recess plate frames a dock-line storage bin set into the seawall cap or the paver field beside it. Coiled bow, spring, and stern lines stop living on the cap, where they trip people, hold salt water against the concrete, and slide toward the water when a boat wake hits the wall.
What the plate is doing
The plate is the finished collar around the bin lid. It has to sit flush with the walking surface, lock to a stable base, and shed water away from the bin joint and the seawall cope. On Palm Harbor, Crystal Beach, and Ozona walls we cut the paver field or the cap edge, set the bin on a compacted pad, and lock a collar the lid can close against.
Lid sits level with the pavers or the cap, not proud of it
Drain path away from the seawall joint so the bin does not become a sump
Collar can be lifted if the bin or the lid hardware has to be replaced
Keeps dock lines off the cap without a loose plastic tub in the walkway
