Flush Seawall Mooring-Whip Socket Plates
A mooring whip keeps a boat off the seawall, but the socket is often bolted proud of the cap. That plate catches a hose, stubs a toe, and rusts where the fastener sits in the splash zone.
What a flush socket plate does
The plate is recessed so the socket sits even with the coping. The whip can come out ahead of a storm. The opening does not become a trip or a place for joint sand and salt to pack. We set it when we rebuild a cap or a dock landing, not as an afterthought on a finished field.
Where it belongs
On the cap, clear of the tie-rod zone and the cleat layout, with a drain path so the recess does not hold water. PaverForge Hardscapes builds seawall cap and dock landing hardscapes from St. Pete Beach. Call 727-490-9798 or book at https://www.paverforge.com/book-online.
