Flush Seawall Name-Board Mounting Plates
A dock name board or house-number board screwed straight into a seawall cap is a small job that cracks a big piece of concrete. The bolts rust, the board racks in a storm, and the next replacement opens the hole. A flush mounting plate gives the board a metal seat that sits level with the walking surface of the cap.
What the plate does
We recess a stainless or hot-dip plate into the cap so the top is flush with the walk. The board bolts to the plate, not to the concrete. When the board is swapped, the cap stays closed. The recess is pitched so it does not hold a puddle, and the plate edge is isolated from the paver or concrete joint so it does not telegraph a crack across the cap.
Where it belongs
Private docks in St. Pete Beach, Treasure Island, Ozona, Crystal Beach, and the rest of Pinellas waterfront lots. The plate is a cap detail, not a structural repair of the wall. If the cap is already spalled at the old bolt holes, we cut that pocket out and reset the plate in sound concrete.
