Flush Seawall Pile-Cap Inspection Plates

A seawall pile cap sits under the cap beam, often right where the owner wants a flush paver walk. Cutting the field open every time a marine contractor needs to look at the cap wastes the walk and leaves a patch that does not match.

PaverForge Hardscapes sets a flush inspection plate in the paver field or cap-walk so the plate lifts out, the marine crew can see the pile-cap zone, and the walk goes back together without a saw cut through the pattern. This is an access detail. It is not a structural repair of the pile, the cap, or the seawall.

What the plate is

• A framed opening sized with the marine contractor, not guessed from the paver module

• A lid that finishes flush with the paver surface so it is not a trip edge

• A seat that keeps sand and polymeric joint sand from falling into the void

• A location marked so the next inspection does not start with a probe rod through the field

What we coordinate

The marine or seawall contractor owns the pile, the cap, and any structural opinion. We own the hardscape around the opening: base, restraint, drainage away from the plate, and a lid that can come up without destroying the border course. If the cap is already exposed for repair, we set the plate frame before the walk is closed.

Where this shows up

Bay and canal lots in Old Northeast, Snell Isle, Shore Acres, and the barrier islands are the usual requests. The plate only helps if the walk is being built or rebuilt. We do not core a sound field just to add a lid.
