Flush Seawall Pile-Jacket Vent Collars
A pile jacket is the fiberglass or epoxy sleeve used to encapsulate a deteriorated seawall or dock pile. The sleeve is supposed to weep. If the cap pavers are mortared tight against the jacket, those vents clog, water stays trapped, and the jacket can split or hide corrosion until the pile is already soft.
What the collar does
A flush pile-jacket vent collar is a removable paver ring set in the cap or patio so the weep and the jacket seam stay reachable. The ring sits at finished grade. It is not a raised curb that trips a cart, and it is not a caulk joint that has to be cut out the next time the marine contractor inspects the sleeve.
Keep the jacket weep and vent ports clear of bedding sand and polymeric haze
Give the marine crew a lift-out ring instead of a saw cut through the field
Hold the surrounding pavers with a rigid edge so the ring does not become a settlement bowl
Pitch the cap away from the jacket so stormwater is not the thing feeding the vent
Not a pile boot and not a wrap window
A pile boot is the splash skirt at the waterline. A wrap window is an inspection port in a protective wrap. The vent collar is the hardscape piece on the cap: it protects the jacket vents from the paver field. We coordinate the ring diameter with the marine contractor so the collar clears the jacket flange and still locks into the field.
