Flush Seawall Pump-Out Fitting Splash Collars
Why the fitting digs a hole
Canal and marina lots in Pinellas put a pump-out fitting on or just behind the seawall cap. Rinse water, residual drip, and deck wash concentrate at that one point. In a season the joint at the cap opens, fines leave, and the paver or concrete beside the fitting settles into a cup.
A flush splash collar is a small reinforced pad, set level with the walking surface, with a slight fall back to the water side of the cap. It is not a curb and it is not a trip edge. The fitting stays accessible. The collar keeps the wash from mining the bedding under the adjacent pavers.
Collar flush with the cap or paver field, not a raised ring
Fall to the water side so yard pavers stay dry
Joint isolated from the fitting so drip cannot enter the bedding
Sized for the hose swing, not just the fitting flange
