Flush Seawall Railing-Post Base Plates
A seawall railing post often lands in the middle of a paver cap walk. The base plate is wider than a joint, and a bolt head that sits proud becomes a trip edge.
Cutting the field every time a marine contractor needs the bolts leaves a patch that rocks. Water trapped under the plate works the sand out of the joints.
A plate that can come off
We set a flush isolation pad under the plate, with a bond break so the steel does not lock to the pavers. Bolt heads sit in a recess. The cap walk stays continuous around the pad.
The marine contractor can lift the plate without sawing the pattern. We do not claim the pad replaces a structural seawall repair. It only keeps the finished walk serviceable.
