Flush Seawall Stern-Line Hook Plates
A stern line needs a hook or eye that will not tear out of a paver joint. On Palm Harbor and Ozona seawall caps, the clean detail is a flush plate set into the cap or the dock-edge band so the fitting sits at the walking surface. A proud cleat on a barefoot path is a trip. A hook screwed into a joint is a breakout waiting for the next pull.
PaverForge Hardscapes sets flush stern-line hook plates where the paver field meets the seawall. Call 727-490-9798 or book a walkthrough at paverforge.com/book-online.
What the plate is for
The plate is a hardscape collar around the fitting. It is not a seawall rebuild, and it is not a substitute for a marine contractor if the cap is spalled or the anchor is already loose. We cut a recess, set the plate flush with the field or the cap, and keep the pavers from fracturing when the line loads.
Recess cut to the plate thickness so the walking surface stays flush
Fitting anchored into sound cap or a sleeved block, not into joint sand
Drainage so the recess does not hold salt water against the hardware
Plate edge isolated from the paver field so a pull does not walk the stones
When to call someone else first
If the cap is cracked through, if the existing eye spins in its hole, or if the seawall is already moving, that is a marine repair before a paver detail. We will say so on the walkthrough. Photos of the cap, the current hook, and the paver joint next to it are enough to start.
