Flush Seawall Stringer Inspection Plates
Canal lots in Shore Acres, Snell Isle, and along the Pinellas bayous often hide the seawall stringer under a paver deck. When the bolts, washers, or timber wale need a look, a solid field means cutting pavers. A flush inspection plate leaves a removable door in the deck.
What the plate actually needs
The plate sits in a recessed frame so the lid is flush with the paver surface. It is sized to the bolt line, not to a random square, and the frame is isolated from the walking field so deck movement does not bind the lid.
We pitch the surrounding field away from the plate and keep joint sand out of the recess. The lid stays light enough for one person to lift, and the opening stays clear of the cap joint so a future stringer repair does not require tearing the deck.
