Flush Seawall VHF Antenna Base Plates
A VHF antenna on a Palm Harbor or Ozona seawall is only as steady as the plate under it. A lag screwed into the cap edge rocks in the wind, cracks the cope, and leaves a rust streak down the face. A flush base plate lets the mast come off for a storm without opening the wall.
What the plate is
The plate is a recessed stainless or composite pad set into the cap, with a cable sweep and a bonding lug the marine electrician can reach. The paver or concrete collar around it is pitched so wash water and spray do not sit in the recess. We do not bury the coax in the joint sand.
The plate is isolated from the walking surface so a bare foot does not find a bolt, and so the antenna ground is a known point instead of a random piece of rebar. If the cap is already spalled, we cut a clean recess instead of fastening to the failed edge.
When to call
If the mast leans, the cap is cracked at the bolts, or you are adding a radio before a new dock walk goes down, do the plate with the hardscape. Call PaverForge Hardscapes at 727-490-9798 or book at https://www.paverforge.com/book-online.
