Flush Seawall Vinyl-Sheet Interlock Inspection Plates
Flush vinyl-sheet interlock inspection plates for Pinellas canal seawalls: a liftable paver bay over the sheet clutch so the interlock can be checked without cutting the cap walk.
Why the interlock needs a plate
Vinyl and composite sheet walls lock at a clutch between panels. That joint is the place a cap walk hides first. Once the pavers are glued down, a marine contractor has to saw the field to see whether the interlock has walked, the wale bolt has loosened, or the filter fabric has pulled.
PaverForge sets a small framed bay in the cap walk, flush with the field, over the interlock the wall builder marks. The plates lift with a suction cup. The rest of the walk stays locked.
What the bay has to do
Sit on a compacted base so the plates do not rock when someone steps on the cap
Stay flush with the walk so a hose and a cart do not catch an edge
Leave the interlock, bolt, and fabric readable without prying the field
Pitch the surrounding pavers off the bay so rain does not pond in the recess
This is a hardscape access detail, not a seawall repair. If the sheet is already leaning or the clutch is open, the marine contractor leads. We build the plate bay when the cap walk is being set or re-laid.
