Flush Seawall Water-Spigot Splash Collars
A dock or seawall hose bib looks harmless until rinse water sheets off the cap and cuts a groove at the joint. On Pinellas canals that groove becomes a void under the walk.
What a splash collar does
We set a flush concrete or paver collar around the spigot so wash-down water lands on a hard surface and leaves through a pitch to the dock drain or a trapped low point, not through the cap joint.
Collar set flush so a hose and a bare foot do not catch an edge
Pitch away from the seawall joint
A gap left for the bib repair without tearing the whole walk
Edge restraint where the collar meets a sand-set paver field
When to add one
Add the collar when you already see sand at the cap, a soft spot beside the bib, or staining that tracks back under the walk. Call PaverForge Hardscapes at 727-490-9798 or book at https://www.paverforge.com/book-online.
