Kentucky Avenue NE Shore Acres Courtyards
Kentucky Avenue NE is a short Shore Acres block on the northeast edge of St. Petersburg, between Smacks Bayou and the Weedon Island side of the neighborhood. Courtyards here sit under live oak canopy and take the sheet flow from afternoon storms that run toward the rear swale.
What the courtyards actually do
Most calls are a lanai that dumps water onto a sand joint, a courtyard that rocks at the screen-cage posts, or a field that has settled below the slider track. The lots are bay-side sand with a high water table. A thin bedding layer pumps after a wet week and the pavers cup.
PaverForge Hardscapes builds and re-levels these courtyards from the St. Pete Beach shop. We open the failed section, correct the base, and reset the field so the patio drains away from the house instead of toward the track.
Base, edge, and drainage
Compacted base under the cage posts, not loose sand that washes into the joint
Edge restraint where the courtyard meets lawn or shell
A slope that clears the slider and the AC pad, not a birdbath in the middle
Joints that stay locked after salt air and irrigation overspray
If the stones are still sound, we re-level instead of tearing the whole courtyard out. Send photos of the low spots, the cage posts, and the street frontage. Call 727-490-9798. We walk the lot before we lock a number, and we also cover the rest of Shore Acres, Old Northeast, and south Pinellas from the same crew.
