Pass-a-Grille Way Side Yards and Cottage Walks
Pass-a-Grille Way is a short, sandy street where the lot is often narrower than the truck. A side-yard walk fails here when it is laid on beach sand, pitched toward the cottage slab, or left without an edge that can take salt air.
PaverForge Hardscapes builds and re-levels those walks from our St. Pete Beach shop. Call 727-490-9798 or book a walkthrough at paverforge.com/book-online.
What the lot actually needs
We measure the only staging path, the city sidewalk or shell shoulder, and the high-water line after a summer cell. Then we excavate to a depth that leaves compacted aggregate under the field, not a skim of sand over native soil.
Compacted aggregate base sized for foot traffic and the occasional cart, not a sand-only bed
Pitch away from the slab and toward a legal outfall, not into the neighbor's court
A rigid edge that will not rust out in salt air
Joint sand locked after compaction so the first storm does not wash the field
Access and color
Material often comes through a three-foot side yard. We plan that before anyone digs. Gulf-side color fades faster than a mainland drive, so we specify through-body concrete pavers and talk sealing only after the joints are locked.
If the stones are still sound and the base is the problem, we re-level instead of tearing the walk out. Send photos of the low spots and the street frontage. We typically reply the same business day.
