Pepper Town Hardscapes on 22nd Street South
Pepper Town sits along 22nd Street South in St. Petersburg, a historic corridor of narrow lots, mature trees, and driveways that pinch at the sidewalk. A field that looks fine on a newer subdivision will settle here if the base is a couple of inches of sand over native soil.
Apron, sidewalk, and the short throat
We measure the garage-slab lip, the city walk, and the flare before we order pavers. If the concrete apron is broken, the rebuild is a permitted curb cut, not a private field paved over the right of way. 80mm driveway pavers go in the vehicle path. A soldier-course border can be lifted later without tearing the field.
Stage base so the only neighbor access stays open.
Keep pitch off the slab and off the side-yard fence line.
Match existing pavers only when the unit is still made. Otherwise we set a clean border and a new field.
Re-sand joints after the field has locked, not the same day as a pressure wash.
When a reset beats a patch
If the plastic edge has kicked out along the oak, or water stands at the stoop after a summer storm, a bay reset is cheaper than chasing settlement every wet season.
