Setting a Flush Landscape Drain Cleanout Ring in a Pinellas Paver Walk
Older Pinellas yards often have a corrugated drain or a pop-up emitter whose cleanout sits exactly where the new walk wants to go. Covering the cap with a paver looks tidy for a month and becomes a saw-cut the first time the line clogs.
Flush, not buried
We raise or cut the cleanout to finished paver grade, set a ring that the lid can seat in, and keep the surrounding courses independent so a future pull does not rack the walk. The lid is a different material on purpose so it can be found.
Camera or snake the line before the walk locks it in.
Do not let bedding sand fall down an open cleanout.
Pitch the walk past the lid, not onto it.
Mark the cap on the job photos so the owner can find it after the sod grows in.
Pop-ups at the lawn edge
If the emitter stays in the lawn, the walk still needs a splash gap so discharge does not undermine the edge restraint. A pop-up aimed at the first course is a washout waiting for August.
