Setting a Gas-Meter Protection Pad in a Pinellas Paver Court
A paver court that runs over a gas meter looks finished until the utility needs the regulator. PaverForge Hardscapes sets a protection pad and a clear working radius instead of burying the meter in the field.
What the pad does
The pad is a small paver island or a flush concrete collar outside the tire path. It keeps edging, mulch, and polymeric sand away from the meter. The regulator, vent, and shutoff stay visible. We do not cut, move, or sleeve the gas line. That work stays with the gas utility or a licensed plumber.
Edge restraint stops at the protection zone. A soldier course frames the opening so the field cannot creep toward the meter. Pitch on the surrounding court runs away from the regulator, not into it.
Where we use it
Side-yard courts in St. Pete Beach, Gulfport, Largo, and northeast St. Pete often hide the meter behind a new screen wall. The pad is planned before the wall footing so the technician still has a stance.
Call PaverForge Hardscapes at 727-490-9798 before the court is laid if a meter sits inside the new field.
FAQ
Can pavers cover the meter if a lid is left? No. The utility needs the full regulator, not a lid. Can you build the pad after the field is in? Yes, by lifting a small area, but it is cleaner to leave the opening on day one.
