Bedding-Sand Contamination After a Landscape-Bed Washout in Pinellas
A hard Pinellas rain can blow a raised landscape bed across a new paver patio. Mulch, irrigation fines, and organic silt ride the water into the joints, stain the faces, and turn ASTM C33 bedding into a pumping layer. Pressure-washing the surface does not fix that. PaverForge Hardscapes treats it as a bedding-sand contamination repair.
What you are actually looking at
If joints stay dark after they dry, or if a few units rock when you step near the bed edge, the bedding is no longer clean sand. Fine particles hold moisture against the paver bottoms and the next storm moves more of the field. Sealer on top of dirty joints just locks the mess in place.
How we repair it
We lift the affected band, scrape contaminated bedding to a firm base, check that the landscape bed now has a proper edge and overflow path, and replace bedding with clean concrete sand. Units go back in the original pattern, joints get polymeric or open-graded stone depending on whether the field is PICP, and we keep irrigation off the repair until the sand locks.
Do not drive or set planters on the repaired band for the first-week window
Regrade the bed so downspouts and driplines do not dump onto the field
Photograph the open section so you can see why a wash-only quote would have failed
