2nd Avenue North St. Pete Side Yards
2nd Avenue North is the southern edge of the Old Northeast, close to downtown and to lots that were built with a three-foot side yard. Those paths carry the AC condenser, the meter, and the trash cart. A loose sand set fails the first time a cart wheel hits a low joint.
What a 2nd Avenue North side yard needs
The path has to stay narrow enough for the fence and wide enough for a cart. We keep a service strip at the condenser so the unit can be pulled without cracking pavers, and we pitch the field toward the yard or a drain, never back at the stem wall.
Base in a tight corridor
Haul-off is by wheelbarrow on most of these lots. We still excavate the failed sand, compact base in lifts, and restrain both edges. Where a downspout dumps on the path, we add a splash pad or a short channel so the joint sand stays put.

Call PaverForge Hardscapes at 727-490-9798. Photos of the gate width, the condenser, and the low end of the path are enough to schedule a walk. We also cover downtown St. Petersburg and the Old Northeast from the St. Pete Beach shop.
