Edge-Restraint Pull-Out After Pinellas Tropical Storms
After a tropical storm, the first failure on many Pinellas drives is not a cracked paver. It is the edge restraint that lifted, rusted through, or walked off the spike line so the field can ravel. PaverForge Hardscapes re-pins and replaces those edges. Call 727-490-9798.
Why the edge lets go
Standing water saturates the spike line. Thin plastic restraint bows. Bare steel spikes rust in salt air. Once two or three spikes pull, traffic shoves the soldier course and the joint sand dumps. A new edge on the same loose shoulder will fail again.
How we put it back
We lift the border course, compact the shoulder, set a heavier restraint with corrosion-resistant spikes, and backfill before the field is re-sanded. On Gulf-front lots we use aluminum or concrete ribbon curb instead of light plastic. The repair is done when the border does not move under a plate compactor.
