Meeting a Heaved City Sidewalk Without Tearing Out the Paver Walk

City sidewalk panels along Pinellas oak streets rise after roots and rain. The homeowner's paver walk still sits where it was poured-in-place concrete used to sit, so a lip appears at the right-of-way. Tearing out forty feet of good pavers is not the first move. PaverForge Hardscapes rebuilds the last few feet so the walk meets the new sidewalk grade.

The transition, not the whole run

We lift the last courses, add or remove base, and reset a contrasting border so the change in elevation reads as a design step, not a trip. If the sidewalk is still moving, we say so and leave a joint that can be reset again without touching the porch landing.

Right-of-way work stays on the city's side of the line. We do not cut a city panel unless the permit and the inspector say to. Photos of the existing lip go in the quote so nobody argues about what was there on day one.

Book the walk-through

Bring a photo of the sidewalk joint and the front door landing. We will tell you whether a three-course reset is enough. PaverForge Hardscapes repairs paver walks across Pinellas County. Call 727-490-9798 or email PaverForge@gmail.com.
