Re-compacting Utility Trenches Through Existing Pinellas Paver Drives
A plumber or irrigation crew that cuts a trench through a paver drive and backfills with native sand leaves a dip that shows up after the first wet month. The stones on top are not the failure. The uncompacted trench is.
PaverForge Hardscapes lifts the field along the cut, rebuilds the base in thin lifts, and sets a repair band that can be maintained instead of a one-stone blotch.
How we close a trench
We photograph the existing pattern, stack the lifted units in order, and undercut any organic or loose backfill the first crew left. Crushed concrete goes in lifts and is compacted to the same density as the rest of the drive. Bedding is screeded to the adjacent field so the repair does not sit high.
If the original pallet is gone we build a soldier or header band with a close color lot rather than sprinkling odd units through the field.
Call before the dip walks
If a recent utility cut already ponds, call 727-490-9798. A trench repair is cheaper than letting the adjacent field walk toward the low spot.
