Re-Leveling a Settled Soldier Course Without a Full Tear-Out
On a lot of Pinellas driveways the body of the field is still tight and the soldier-course border has dropped. That usually means the edge restraint moved, the base at the edge was thin, or irrigation and roof water have been washing fines out of the first foot.
A full tear-out is the wrong first move when the field is otherwise locked. PaverForge lifts the border, repairs the edge section, and resets the same units so the color match stays honest.
When a border-only repair is enough
The field behind the border is still interlocked and does not rock under a plate.
The drop is localized to the first one or two courses, not a dish across the throat.
Units are intact enough to reuse after cleaning.
The restraint can be re-pinned or replaced without opening the whole lot.
How the repair is built
We pull the soldier course and the first field course if it has started to roll, add or recompact base at the edge, reset the restraint through the base, and re-sand. Joints get a controlled first-week water schedule the same as a new install so the edge locks again.
If the border drop is a symptom of a failed throat or a washed-out base under the whole field, we will say so before we start. Call 727-490-9798 for a look at a settled Pinellas edge.
