Re-pitching a Settled Pinellas Paver Patio After House Settlement
Coastal Pinellas houses move a little. A quarter-inch at the slider is enough to send patio water under the track after every storm. Homeowners often assume the whole patio has to come out. PaverForge Hardscapes first checks whether the base is still tight and only the bedding and pitch need to be reset.
When a re-pitch works
If a screwdriver does not sink through the base and there is no pumping mud at the joints, we can lift rows from the house out, correct the bedding thickness, and restore a two-percent pitch away from the slab. Isolation at the beam stays open so the deck is not welded to the house.
If the base has washed or the lot has a buried organic pocket, a re-pitch is a delay, not a fix. We say that on the first visit. Partial relays that stop at a mid-field soldier band look intentional and keep extra units off the HOA dumpster list.
After the reset
Joints get a clean polymeric or open-graded stone depending on the original system. We do not sand a field that still holds water. PaverForge Hardscapes re-levels and re-pitches patios from St. Pete Beach through Clearwater and Palm Harbor. Call 727-490-9798 or email PaverForge@gmail.com.
