Rebuilding a Mailbox Soldier-Course After a Post Replacement in Pinellas
Mailbox posts get hit, rot, or get swapped by the carrier. The four-to-eight paver soldier course around the post is usually the first thing that drops, and a hurried concrete collar around the new post makes the next repair worse. PaverForge Hardscapes rebuilds that ring so it sits flush with the driveway again.
Lift the ring, not the whole throat
We lift the soldier course and one buffer row, pull contaminated bedding, and compact a small crushed-concrete patch around the new post. The post itself gets a lean concrete footing below the bedding line, not a mushroom of mix poured on top of the sand. Units go back on a screeded bed with the original joint width so the ring does not read as a patch from the street.
Color and edge
If the original border color is discontinued, we pull a few units from a less-visible part of the field or blend a close current run rather than dropping a bright new soldier course on an aged drive. The restraint at the lawn side is re-pinned so the ring cannot creep the next time a truck clips the box.
If your Pinellas mailbox island is the low spot in an otherwise decent driveway, schedule a small repair with PaverForge Hardscapes at 727-490-9798.
