Rebuilding a Paver Walk After a Fiber-Optic Drop and Telecom Pedestal
Fiber and cable drops cut Pinellas walks every week. The crew saws a slot, sets a pedestal or handhole, and backfills with whatever is on the truck. The walk then holds a trip lip, a rocking unit, and a joint that washes in the next storm.
What a real rebuild looks like
We lift a clean panel, not just the saw cut. The pedestal gets a grade ring so the lid sits flush with the finished field. Bedding is reset to thickness. Units go back in the original pattern, or we cut a repair band from leftover stock if the face is chipped. Edge restraint that was cut gets re-pinned. Joints are compacted and locked.
Do not pack the hole with leftover concrete sand and hope the next rain hides it. That is how the pedestal starts to tilt and the walk opens at the lid.
How to book the rebuild
Photograph the cut, the pedestal, and five feet of walk on each side. Call 727-490-9798. If the utility is still on site, have them leave the stones stacked on the lot instead of hauling them off.
