Rebuilding Pavers After a Directional-Bore Utility Crossing

Directional boring under a driveway is quieter than an open trench, but the bore path still loosens base. Weeks later a straight trough shows up in the field, usually from the street toward the meter or the far side yard. PaverForge Hardscapes lifts only the affected band, recompacts, and relays the same units.

We photograph the pattern before we pull units so the herringbone or running bond lands back on the original lines. Disturbed base is removed to firm material, geotextile is patched if it was cut, and crushed-concrete is compacted in thin lifts. Bedding sand is replaced, not reused if it is contaminated with bore slurry.

If the utility left a pit in the lawn, that is not a paver scope. We stop at the edge restraint. Face-chipped units get swapped from the repair pallet the original job should have left.

What we need from you after a bore

  • A photo of the trough after a rain, when the dip is obvious.

  • The utility ticket or contractor name if you have it.

  • Any leftover pavers from the original install.

  • HOA rules if the drive sits behind a gate.

We rebuild bore paths in St. Pete Beach, St. Petersburg, Largo, and greater Pinellas. Call 727-490-9798.
