Tierra Verde Hardscapes: Causeway Access, Wind, and Sand

Tierra Verde is a short drive south of St. Pete Beach across the Pinellas Bayway, and that causeway changes the job before we unload a single pallet. Wind, sand, HOA review, and tight cul-de-sacs are the real spec. The paver color is the last decision, not the first.

Site conditions we plan for

• Causeway traffic and HOA rules can limit dump-truck windows. Material drops get scheduled, not improvised.

• Sandy soil and canal-side grades need a compacted aggregate base and a drain path that does not dump onto a neighbor.

• Wind-driven rain finds every low joint. Edge restraint and joint sand have to survive that, not just look clean on day one.

• Many homes already have a paver field that settled at the garage. Re-level is often the better spend if the stones are intact.

Typical Tierra Verde projects

Driveway replacements at the garage, courtyard patios screened from the wind, and pool-deck repairs where the original base was too thin. We will also look at stone veneer and columns when the house face needs to match the new hardscape, using materials that tolerate salt air.

If the lot is on the water, we talk through flood and grade before we draw a 3D layout. A pretty patio that holds stormwater against the slab is not a finished job.
