161st Avenue North Redington Beach Courtyards

161st Avenue North is a short barrier-island street in Redington Beach. Lots are tight, the Gulf wind salts everything, and the water table is never far under the shell. A mainland sand bed will pump here. The courtyard looks fine until the first king tide and then the joints open.

Base that stays put

We excavate to a depth that leaves compacted aggregate, not a skim of sand over wet native soil. Geotextile goes down where the subgrade is soft. The field pitches to a legal outfall, usually the side swale or a flush drain, never toward the slab or the neighbor's courtyard.

  • Through-body color, because Gulf-side faces fade

  • Rigid edge so the first course does not walk into the shell yard

  • Screen-cage tracks isolated from the paver field

  • Sealing only after the joints are locked and the salt film is off

Staging on a narrow street

161st does not have a staging lane. We plan the material drop so the only neighbor access stays open, and we do not leave a pallet in the right-of-way overnight.

Flush Seawall Flag-Staff Socket Plates

A flush flag-staff socket plate sets a removable courtesy-flag socket in the seawall cap or dock-edge pavers so the opening is not a toe catch when the staff is out.
