16th Street South Driveways in South-Central St. Petersburg
16th Street South between the I-275 ramps and Lakewood is a mix of 1920s bungalows, mid-block duplexes, and rebuilt lots with almost no side yard. Delivery trucks cannot sit in the travel lane all day. The driveway still has to take daily cars and the occasional box truck.
Tight-lot constraints on 16th Street South
Pallets stage on the existing slab or one protected parking stall, not across the neighbor's grass.
Side-load and short front drives need geometry that still meets the sidewalk without a trip lip.
Old concrete is often too thin to overlay. We say so before we bid an overlay that will telegraph cracks.
What we install
A compacted base, geotextile where the subgrade is sugar sand, 80mm pavers in the drive, and a restrained edge that can be opened at the meter or cleanout. Walks can drop to 60mm. We reset irrigation heads that sit in the field instead of burying them under bedding sand.
