21st Avenue South St. Pete Paver Walks
21st Avenue South runs through the older south St. Petersburg grid, between the Old Southeast side streets and the Lake Maggiore approach. Lots are narrow, live oaks sit close to the apron, and many walks are a thin concrete ribbon that has settled at the sidewalk.
What the street asks of a paver job
The city sidewalk and the apron are not yours to reinvent. We set the field to meet the existing walk without a trip lip, pitch water to the street, and undercut soft pockets where irrigation has kept the sand wet under the old ribbon. A patio-thickness stone on that sand will dish at the first wet season.
Utility locates happen before the first shovel. Older water services and irrigation laterals are common under these drives, and a missed line turns a one-day walk into a repair.
Access on a tight block
Interior blocks leave little room to stage. We keep pallets on mats, protect the neighbor strip, and sequence cuts so one car can still park overnight. The finished field is an 80mm driveway stone where tires live, and a patio thickness only on walks that never see a vehicle.
