26th Avenue South Driveways in South St. Petersburg

26th Avenue South cuts through south St. Petersburg between the 4th Street corridor and the Lake Maggiore neighborhoods. Drives here are often a patchwork of old concrete, a thin paver overlay, and a city apron that has been ground more than once.

Overlay is rarely the fix

PaverForge Hardscapes excavates a failed overlay instead of stacking new pavers on a soft base. We proof-roll, replace muck, and compact crushed base in lifts. The private field stops at the right-of-way line. If the apron needs a city permit, we say so before the first cut.

Oak roots along this avenue lift corners. A root barrier and a revised border beat a yearly re-lay. Edge restraint is reset and pinned so the soldier course does not walk into the gutter.

Drainage on a flat avenue

These blocks are flat. A one-way pitch to the street works only if the garage threshold is the high point. Otherwise we crown the drive or send water to a side-yard pop-up, never back at the slab. Utility lids get grade rings so they sit flush and stay openable.

This corridor is not the same as 22nd Avenue South. PaverForge Hardscapes is in St. Pete Beach and covers 26th Avenue South. Call 727-490-9798 or book online.

Flush Seawall Flag-Staff Socket Plates

A flush flag-staff socket plate sets a removable courtesy-flag socket in the seawall cap or dock-edge pavers so the opening is not a toe catch when the staff is out.
