456th Street North Palm Harbor Paver Driveway Aprons
456th Street North sees more trailers than a typical inland street. The apron is not a rectangle. It is the turning throat between the garage, the swale, and the street, and it fails when the flare is too tight for a trailer jack.
Flare and load
We lay out the flare on the ground with the owner's trailer or a measured turning radius before we cut. 80mm pavers in a herringbone or other interlocking pattern take the point load at the throat. A soldier course alone is not the structure. The base is thickened where the trailer tire tracks, and the edge at the swale is restrained so it does not unravel.
What we will not do
We will not pave across a county swale to make a flat parking pad. The ditch has a job. We also will not set the apron above the garage threshold so water runs inside. Pitch is surveyed, not guessed from the sidewalk.
