62nd Avenue North Corridor Driveways in West-Central St. Petersburg
62nd Avenue North runs from the Tyrone side of west St. Petersburg toward Central. Lots are tighter than a suburban cul-de-sac, many still sit on the original thin concrete, and delivery vans use the driveway as a turnaround. A patio-grade paver on two inches of sand fails that load in the first rainy season.
Corridor details that change the spec
Several blocks have mature oaks that stain and heave. Others sit on a slight crown toward the avenue, so a flat field dumps water into the garage. We set the garage threshold first, then pitch the field to the street or a side drain, and we use 80mm pavers on a compacted base whenever the driveway takes cars every day.
80mm driveway pavers on compacted crushed-concrete or lime-rock base.
Garage threshold and first-course slope set before the field is laid.
Root-aware excavation near oaks instead of cutting every surface root.
HOA color boards and pattern mock-ups when the street has a packet.
Staging on a live avenue
We do not block 62nd with a trailer for three days. Material is dropped in a window, cut stations stay on plywood, and saw slurry is contained. If the lot is alley-loaded, we stage from the alley so the avenue face stays open.
PaverForge Hardscapes will walk the lot and send a written scope. Call 727-490-9798 or book online at https://www.paverforge.com/book-online.
