Athens Street Tarpon Springs Paver Walks
Athens Street is in the historic sponge-dock grid in Tarpon Springs. Storefront walks here see foot traffic all weekend, and the sidewalk they meet belongs to the city. A field that looks level in a photo and ponds at the door is the wrong job.
Storefront grade
We survey the threshold, the public walk, and the nearest inlet before we set a pattern. Pitch leaves the door. A soldier course or a darker border hides scuffs from carts and strollers better than a light field edge. Joints get locked after compaction so weekend traffic does not open them in the first season.
Utility lids stay flush. Downtown Tarpon frontage has water, sewer, and older electric close to the building. A grade ring lets the utility open the box without lifting pavers.
Staging on a tourist street
We do not block the travel lane through a Saturday crowd if the job can be sequenced otherwise. Pallets stay on mats, cuts happen early, and the public sidewalk detail stays a city item. If the existing stones are sound, we re-level the settled bay instead of replacing a field that only failed at the base.
