Big Bayou Neighborhood Driveways in South St. Petersburg

Big Bayou is the south St. Petersburg waterfront pocket east of 4th Street South, not the Lake Maggiore park shore and not Bahia Shores. Lots back up to the bayou, many have a seawall and a short rear yard, and the street apron still has to meet a city curb. Flat fields pond. Ponding at a slider is a house problem, not a color problem.

Re-level before tear-out

A lot of these drives settled at the garage and at the apron, not across the whole field. If the pavers are still sound we lift, fix the base in the failed section, and re-lay. A full tear-out is for units that are cracked, for a base that pumps, or for a pitch that cannot be saved.

Tree roots from street oaks heave the walk before they heave the drive. We undercut the root plate we are allowed to cut, relay the section, and do not promise a root will stop growing.

Bayou-side patios

Rear patios stop short of the seawall cap. We keep a service gap, pin the edge, and send water to a drain or the bayou side only where the elevation and any permit limit allow it. Screen-cage posts that already puncture the deck get an isolation ring, not a paver forced under the footer.

How to start

Call PaverForge Hardscapes at 727-490-9798 or book at https://www.paverforge.com/book-online. Send the apron, the garage lip, and the bayou edge. We walk the lot before the number is final.

Flush Seawall Flag-Staff Socket Plates

A flush flag-staff socket plate sets a removable courtesy-flag socket in the seawall cap or dock-edge pavers so the opening is not a toe catch when the staff is out.
