Building a Paver Path to a Dock Box and Shore-Power Pedestal on a Canal Lot

Canal lots in South Pasadena, Gulfport, Madeira Beach, and Snug Harbor need a hard path from the lanai to the dock box and the shore-power pedestal. Grass paths turn to mud after a king tide. PaverForge Hardscapes builds a narrow interlocking run that can take a loaded cooler cart without walking the bulkhead cap.

Stay off the seawall cap

The path stops short of the cap with a soldier course and a small gap. We do not pin edge restraint into the seawall and we do not pour a concrete ribbon that will crack when the wall moves. Pedestal and box pads are isolated so a future electric upgrade does not require tearing the whole run.

  • Open-graded or well-pitched dense base so tide splash drains instead of pumping fines.

  • Salt-air metal or concrete edge restraint — not untreated steel that rust-blooms into the joints.

  • Conduit sleeve under the path for a future pedestal circuit.

  • Texture that stays heel-safe when the path is wet from spray.

Send a photo of the run from slider to bulkhead and call 727-490-9798. We will tell you whether the existing grade can take a path or whether we need a short retaining edge first.

Flush Seawall Flag-Staff Socket Plates

A flush flag-staff socket plate sets a removable courtesy-flag socket in the seawall cap or dock-edge pavers so the opening is not a toe catch when the staff is out.
