Building a Shared-Yard Courtyard for a South St. Pete Duplex

A south St. Petersburg duplex often shares one backyard, two sliders, and one low corner. A poured slab that pitches to one unit’s door becomes a fight. PaverForge Hardscapes builds a sand-set paver courtyard that drains to a designed low point both households can live with.

One field, two thresholds

We measure both slider tracks and set the finished elevation so neither unit gets a step-up that catches a storm door. A 60mm patio field on compacted crushed concrete is enough for furniture and foot traffic. If one side parks a small car, that bay becomes 80mm with a soldier-course break.

Shared staging

Access is usually a side yard, not a drive-through. We protect both units’ AC pads, keep a walking path open, and document the property line so the courtyard does not creep onto a neighbor lot.

Based in St. Pete Beach. We work duplex and small-multifamily courtyards in Lakewood, Maximo, Gulfport, and the 4th Street South corridor. Call 727-490-9798.

Flush Seawall Flag-Staff Socket Plates

A flush flag-staff socket plate sets a removable courtesy-flag socket in the seawall cap or dock-edge pavers so the opening is not a toe catch when the staff is out.
