Capri Isle Hardscapes on Treasure Island

Capri Isle is a canal neighborhood on the Boca Ciega side of Treasure Island. Lots are tight, seawalls take the water load, and king tides push groundwater up under the driveway. A field that is pretty on install day will dish if the base was never compacted to a depth that survives that water.

Canal lots are a drainage job first

We look at the seawall cap, the dock approach, and the garage threshold before we talk color. Water has to leave the field. If the only outfall is toward the canal, we still keep the first ten feet off the house high enough that a tide does not walk into the slab.

• Excavate to a real aggregate section, not a sand skim

• Lock the perimeter so courses do not walk toward the water

• Keep the dock approach on the same plane as the patio when we can

• Do not fake a permeable field over a high water table

Access

Bridge and causeway timing matter on Treasure Island. We schedule material so we are not blocking the only turnaround on the isle. Capri Isle jobs are small in square footage and high in logistics.
