Chestnut Street Clearwater Paver Approaches
Chestnut Street runs through the same Clearwater downtown grid as Court Street and Garden Avenue, with cottages, small rentals, and a few converted storefront walks. Approaches are short. The sidewalk joint is usually the part that has dropped.
What we rebuild
We cut out the settled concrete, confirm there is no shallow irrigation or gas line in the approach, and set a compacted base to the current sidewalk elevation. Pavers are a better repair here than another thin concrete patch because the field can be lifted later if the city raises the walk again.
On a rental or short-term unit, we keep the pattern simple and the joint sand locked so a turnover pressure-wash does not empty the joints in one afternoon. Edge restraint stays on the private side of the sidewalk.
