What the courtyard actually needs

We check the building threshold, the hose bib, and the only staging path before we cut. Harbor sand does not lock a paver field by itself. The base is compacted aggregate, and the edge is pinned so the first course does not creep toward the planter.

Pitch leaves the slab and finds a legal outfall. A walk that dumps toward the building just moves the stain inside.

Salt air and repairs

We use a salt-air edge restraint and through-body pavers. If an older field has settled at the threshold, we lift and rebuild the base rather than sand over the low spot.
